Christmas with Family

Christmas is my favorite time of year. I love all the magical decorations, Christmas carols, and presents! In our home, we always celebrate Christmas as a family.

In late December, we start by decorating the tree all together. My little sister and I take out the baubles and garlands while my parents set up the lights. The most exciting part is placing the star at the top! Once finished, we admire the tree glittering with a thousand lights.

On Christmas Eve, we leave out a glass of milk and cookies for Santa before going to bed, impatient for the next day. Like every year, I also hang a stocking on my bed hoping it will be filled with presents.

On the morning of December 25th, I’m the first one up! I open my gifts in my pajamas before waking up the rest of my family. Everyone is delighted discovering the presents under the tree. Then, we get dressed warmly to go to my grandparents’ house.

At Grandma and Grandpa’s, the atmosphere is festive. The house smells like turkey and yule log! After a delicious meal, we sing carols around the piano while listening to the gentle falling of snow outside. These family moments warm my heart.
